The author served as the second Director of the State Health Resource Centre (SHRC), Chhattisgarh, from 2008 to 2011 and has worked extensively as an Independent Monitor with the National Health Mission (NHM), Government of India. He was a member of the Common Review Mission, contributing to assessments across 11 Indian states. His professional background includes serving as a Health & Nutrition Specialist with UNICEF India. He is also a Life Member of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, the Indian Public Health Association and the Public Health Resource Network.
